School isn't the only place where your child can learn. When your child is at home, you're not only their parent but their teacher, too. However, this doesn't mean that they have to feel like they're back in school again. Learning things through you at home can be fun.

There's nothing more relevant right now considering the current pandemic than being able to find fun learning activities for your child to do at home. Let's take a look at some, which we think are fun, yet educational.

1. Try a Writing Activity

Your child might struggle in school to learn how to write, depending on what stage they’re at. If this is the case, then you can bring the lesson back home as well – however, you don’t have to make it tedious for them.

Learning how to write doesn’t have to be a chore. As long as they are getting the basic premise of it, there are many ways that you can teach your child how to write at home. Get messy, and allow them to trace things. You can even get them to connect the dots. How about asking them to shape letters with Play-Doh? When it comes to learning how to write at home, the possibilities are endless.

2. Consider Online Reading Programs

Another thing that your child might struggle with a bit at school is reading. With the future being a bit unpredictable right now, it's important that you help your child maintain their skill levels. You can even help them go further than this, and improve on their current skill levels.

Teaching your child how to read doesn't have to be boring or frustrating. To make it fun, try one of many online reading programs. They can help your child each step of the way, easing them gently into learning how to read.

3. Help Them with Math Through Number Games

While you might see math as a bit of a tough subject, the truth is that it can be just as fun as other skills that your child is going to learn through school. If they aren’t doing so well with it right now, though, keep up the lessons at home.

The great thing about teaching your child math at home is that it's easy because math is everywhere. Ask them to count how many apples are in the fruit bowl. What about how many shoes are at the door? Math is all around us, so it's easy to implement into everyday life – and fun, too.

4. Try a Science Experiment

There are plenty of fun science experiment ideas out there that you can try out while your child is stuck at home because of lockdown. The great thing about science for kids is that it doesn't have to be boring – it can be visual and hands-on.

Find some great science experiment ideas online, and discover that you don’t even need a lot of tools at home to try them.

The current COVID situation has everyone feeling a bit jaded. However, this doesn’t mean that your child can’t have fun while they’re at home, learning. Make the most of these tips, and watch them flourish through fun learning activities.
